NCLB - No Child Left Behind Report Cards:

The Orange Elementary Schools have applied for a Department of Education waiver allowing for district funds to be applied to costs associated with state mandated supplemental services for our low income students. The need for supplemental services to support our underperforming students is a requirement of the No Child Left Behind Act. The Orange Elementary Schools are dedicated to providing every child under our care with an equal opportunity to fulfill their academic potential.

The intended outcome of our waiver application is to generate the professional development necessary to improve the effectiveness of our classroom instruction and to ensure that all learners and most specifically identified underperformers improve their performance on state mandated MCAS tests. We will be looking for significant improvement in two specific targeted areas: district reading scores and sixth grade math scores at the Butterfield School.
